You have a couple of options when it comes to web mapping platforms today, but which one offers the right price with the right features? Let’s take a look at your choices:

Map Mavin

Map Mavin is $35 a month or $420 for a year. For this price you get public, private and password protected maps, Screen Share, map editing and SQL queries. Also, Map Viewer accounts, which can access private web maps, are always FREE!

  • Price: $35/month

ArcGIS Online

ArcGIS Online dominates the market, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best option for everyone. Contributor accounts run $500 a year, this doesn’t include service credits for storage, analysis tools and so on. For this price, a single user can make private and public maps as well access their web apps. But the ArcGIS Online Viewer accounts cost $100 year and are limited to viewing maps and data. Contributors have a lot of power while viewers are limited and need to pay for an account.

  • Price: $500/year
  • Viewer account: $100/year
  • Private and public maps
  • Requires service credits for extended functionality and storage

Carto

Next up is Carto. They no longer post their pricing online so we are referencing the last known price of $150 a month or $1,639 a year. Back in June, this got you 500 MB of storage and access to their extensive visualization tools. Currently, all Carto plans are enterprise and require a custom quote.

  • Price: custom
  • Requires custom quote

Mango Map

Mango Map starts at $49 a month or $470 a year. This gets you public maps, visualization, private data storage and 10 maps with 2 GB of online storage. Password protected maps, raster uploads and feature and attribute editing are only available with a Business account for $99 a month. Enterprise plans get unlimited private users for $199 a month.

  • Price: $49/month
  • Private and public maps
  • 2 GB of storage and 10 maps

Conclusion

While there are many options available, Map Mavin offers the most features at the lowest price. Map Mavin sets itself apart by offering easy to use web map creation and free Map Viewer accounts to make sharing data with clients and collaborators fast and affordable.
